Colin Firth, best known for A Single Man, Love Actually, Girl With A Pearl Earing, Genius and The Secret Service goes to a Bora, Bora hometown like vacation resort to forget about his life and himself. Mandy (Heather Graham) who a psychological therapist pro on broken people, comes under the auspice of one fancy bed and breakfast diamond of a hotel business. A small bodidney of a little blonde Irish girl, she only wants to bring him to where she knows she wants him to be. A natural advance of well therapy method, she takes him to a beach, some woods perhaps or the most peaceful place he ever went to. As a jewel light comes across him he welcomes this real love as though an attorney who demands as much. Vera, whoever she is knows nothing of the spring garden the young natural health therapist wants to lead the fiance' Colin to, as Vera dumped him (Colin) for another man whom she met while out on the town. A maintenance man whom Colin takes to doing portraits of tells Colin that Colin has had enough time sitting around and chewing on his past. And then with his new hometown girl Mandy, philanthropist or not, there is nothing like her sunshine which shows up that take him from a nervous breakdown and the dark moment of a bad, cold and uncaring past girlfriend, a not so Disney World personae which pop up without warning. And although she made him feel as if he had schizophrenic variety disorder at times, one thing is for sure, Mandy the new girl shows Colin a whole new world.

Her professional therapy, although her nursing home experience actually relates to doing volunteer and professional work helping the elderly, consists of helping her English boyfriend realize a relationship as natural as a Cover Girl from Paris, France. And it is not long before she helps him to start drawing as the professional artist he is, from a stance of a more natural love and from the heart just as a Monet, Manet or even Picasso. Obsession not the key, at this point the song, I'm not in love. It's just because. I keep your picture upon my wall, plays on. And yet he is falling in love. His job and his freelance work take on a new direction, and Colin who by now finds himself growing happier by the day, decides to make a lifetime commitment to Mandy and as pure romance more sweet than light ensues ~ Mandy talks to him about her concern that nothing ever works out for her relationship and otherwise, and although her heart more sweet than sugar, the enigma of that files something darkness plus of an unexplainable negative force in the embodiment of one prior girlfriend who dumped him for a hunk, who dumped her later. The whole story a motif of pure love between a man and a woman, despite a very evil woman named Vera who does everything she thinks she can to show up at the small Vermont town to sow seeds of lies and other things to perform a sour consideration, her attempt to tear the couple apart only enamour them more close together. And in the end, the engagement ring he brings the new girlfriend and the ploy he uses to keep her as well as the way he carries her in his arms back to himself bring romance and a tear with an eye for love.
