“Zombie Loan” is a fantasy manga by Peach-Pit. Michiru Kita is an aimless young girl who can see black ring marks on those who will die. One day, she decides to save two of her classmates, Chika Akatsuki and Shito Tachibana. However, what she doesn’t know is that they’re already dead and are working off a debt in order to come back to life. She soon gets entangled within the world of zombie slaying.
It’s a decent manga, but some zombie fans will be pretty disappointed that there isn’t more gore or that the undead don’t really look all that decayed. There are still some pretty cool concepts: like the idea that a zombie pregnancy would take longer than a living one and that Michiru turns out to be a singularity. Some readers may feel that the ending is a bit of a cop out, although it ends on a hopeful note. Honolulu Peach-Pit fans may like “Zombie Loan”.
