Holly's manga review: 'Wedding Peach'

“Wedding Peach” is a magical girl manga by Sukehiro Tomita. Momoko is an ordinary, clumsy girl who is great at Photography and has a crush on the Soccer Captain Yanagiba. Her best friends are Yuri and Hinagiku. One day, the goddess Aphrodite gives Momoko the ability to become Wedding Peach in order to fight against Rain Devila and her Demon minions, who are intent on destroying the Love Wave. Yuri and Hinagiku also become magical girls: Angel Lily and Angel Daisy respectively. Will they defeat Rain Devila?

There’s actually only one thing “Wedding Peach” ripped off from “Sailor Moon”: namely that three of the magical girls are reincarnations of Angel Realm citizens. Other than that, it’s really just your standard magical girl story. The plot’s okay, but the themes of love and how it can change people for the better should have been explored in greater depth. Still, Honolulu magical girl fans may enjoy “Wedding Peach”.
