“The Twin Knights” is the sequel to “Princess Knight” by Osamu Tekuza. Princess Sapphire is happily married to Prince Franz. The story starts on the day she gives birth to twins: a boy and a girl. A dispute over who will be the heir to the throne arises, so God sends Tinks to solve the problem. He chooses Prince Daisy as the heir, resulting in the Princess Violet’s supporters to kidnap him and leave him to die in the forest. But he’s recused by a deer who can turn into a human. This is only the start of Prince Daisy and Princess Violet’s adventures.
The story is a worthy sequel to “Princess Knight”, although Sapphire and Franz’s plot to fool their enemies seems pretty stupid and not necessary at all. It’s also a bummer that we don’t see Sapphire go into a Mama Grizzly mode and fight against an opponent trying to kill her children. The artwork fits the story well. Honolulu “Princess Knight” fans should read this comic.
