Manga Review

“Puella Magi Kazumi Magica: The Innocent Malice” is a spin-off of the magical girl series, “Puella Magi Madoka Magica”. Kazumi is an amnesiac young girl who wakes up in a suitcase. She’s attacked by a giant praying mantis, but she turns into a Puella Magi. She meets up with the Pleiades Saints and their Incubator, Jyuubey, who can clean the impurities from their soul gems. But they’re hiding a terrible secret from Kazumi about her origins. Will she find out?

This is one of the best spin-offs of the “Puella Magi” franchise that shows a touching lesson that artificial beings deserve to exist without dwelling in misanthropy. It’s admirable that Kazumi doesn’t succumb to hatred and revenge after everything that happens to her. Although having Pleiades member Kaoru defending her helps out a lot in the story. Honolulu “Puella Magi” fans should buy this great spin-off as soon as they can.
