“Panorama of Hell” is a horror manga by the famous Hideshi Hino. There is an artist who uses his own blood to create pictures of Hell. He lives in a place that overlooks a working guillotine which executes humans daily. His wife runs the bar where the headless corpses of the guillotines’ victims eat their own flesh daily. But all of that pales in comparison to the artist’s tragic past under the shadow of Hiroshima.
The story is pretty good with cartoony yet horrific artwork that fits the tone of the manga. The scary imagery is good, but things get really interesting when he talks about his dark past. The reader may start to wonder if the main character is actually suffering from delusions due to the psychological trauma he suffered due to his horrible past and wants to destroy the world for revenge. Honolulu Hideshi Hino fans should read “Panorama of Hell”.
