Holly's manga review: 'My Bad!'

“My Bad!” is a manga anthology by Rize Shinba. The title story deals with a young man who falls in love with one of his grandfather’s tenants. His obsession causes him to pull a desperate move by stealing the tenant’s boxers. Another story deals with a president and vice president who have to keep their relationship a secret because their fathers are opposing political figures. The last tale deals with a man falling in love with a train conductor.

It’s okay, but some of the stories are based on annoying yaoi clichés. The title story is especially problematic as stealing somebody’s underwear is pretty creepy. The tenant would’ve been realistically put off by the person’s behavior and stayed away from them instead of falling in love with them. The artwork is okay, though it is messy. Honolulu yaoi fans should decide if they can handle the problematic aspects of “My Bad!” before reading it.
