Holly's manga review: 'Lost Boys'

“Lost Boys” is a yaoi manga retelling of “Peter Pan” by Kaname Itsuki. The Lost Boys want a dad, so their leader, Air, goes into the other world in order to find one. He grabs somebody on the first open window that he sees. The man is Mizuki, who wants nothing to do with fatherhood, thanks in part to his own troubled relationship with his dad. However, he becomes charmed by Air and falls in love with him. Will their relationship work out?

This is a pretty interesting take on the “Peter Pan” story. It’s a shame that the author didn’t try to do more subversive twists on the story or show that one can combine the best traits of adults and children. It’s surprising that the pirates don’t appear until near the end of the manga. It would have been pretty funny to read. “Lost Boys” is an enjoyable manga for Honolulu yaoi fans.
