Holly's manga review: 'Kobato'

“Kobato” is a fantasy manga by the famous manga group CLAMP. Kobato Hanato is a sweet young girl who carries an empty bottle. Her mission is to fill the bottle with the essence of wounded hearts. When the bottle is completely full, she will be given a wish. Assisting her is a talking stuffed do named Ioryogi, who does his best to keep the scattered-brained Kobato out of trouble. Will she achieve her goal?

This is a pretty good story that manages to have CLAMP’s traditional quirkiness without causing the reader any confusion. The crossover with “Wish” is cute, through some people may be understandably be annoyed by it. It would have been nice to see Kobato heal a few more wounded hearts and learn more about human nature. The artwork is beautiful. Honolulu CLAMP fans will find this to be an enjoyable, straightforward story to read on a rainy day.
