“Cause of My Teacher” is a yaoi anthology by Temari Matsumoto. The title story deals with Tohru, a student who is in love with his teacher, Minazuki. He also has a fetish for glasses and wants Minazuki to wear them while they kiss. ‘The Boy from the Palace of the Sea’ deals with a tale of forbidden love. ‘In the Guidance Room’ focuses on the relationship between an uptight student and his pushover teacher.
The plots are pretty decent, although some readers will be put off by the subject matter. It’s a little surprising that the author didn’t make this a theme anthology focusing on glasses. But it’s understandable, since it’s harder to incorporate glasses into an erotic scene than more flexible items like rope or leather. It’s amazing that the pushover teacher of ‘In the Guidance Room’ hasn’t had a nervous breakdown yet since students will pounce on any weakness in a teacher. Honolulu yaoi fans can read this on a rainy day.
