Holly's manga review: 'Beast and Feast'

“Beast and Feast” is a yaoi thriller by Akira Norikazu. While investigating a murder, Kuazuha meets with an old junior high classmate, Hyoudou. The latter is a member of the Yakuza. He’s willing to give Kazuha some important information, but Kazuha has to be willing to give himself, body and soul to Hyoudou; and he won’t take no for an answer. Will Kazuha solve the case with his honor intact?

The idea of a cop and a yakuza in a forbidden relationship is a pretty good one. But it’s odd that the author feels like they have to force Kazuha into a relationship with Hyoudou. It would have been more interesting if it was played up like a yaoi morality tale that explores how far is one willing to go to catch a murderer and if love can survive intact. “Beast and Feast” is an okay manga for Honolulu yaoi fans.
