Holly's manga review: 'A Perfect Day for Love Letters'

“A Perfect Day for Love Letters” is a romance anthology by George Asakura. The stories use love letters to kindle romantic relationships. ‘The Mailman’s Love’ deals with a mailman who secretly sends letters to a blind cello player in the guise of the person who listened to her playing. Another story deals with a librarian finding a love letter written to her hidden in a book. She goes off to find the person who wrote it. Another story deals with a young man who discovers some important things about his brother, thanks to a video tape.

This is a wonderful anthology with a nice variety of stories with a lot of emotional depth. The artwork is clean, crisp, and suits the tone of the stories well. The rest of George Asakura’s works should be translated as soon as possible. It would be a terrible shame if “A Perfect Day for Love Letter” languished in obscurity. Honolulu romance fans should read it as soon as they can.
