Holly's anime review: 'Tekken: Blood Vengence'

“Tekken: Blood Vengeance” is a film based on the video game series. Jin and his father Kazuya Mishima seek the M Cell. This cell unlocks the supernatural powers within the Mishima bloodline. Kazuya dispatches Ling Xiaoyu to spy on Shin Kamiya, who holds the key to the M Cell. She befriends Alisa Bosconovitch, who is carrying secrets of her own. Can the two young girls weather the destructive actions of the Mishima family?

While the movie is really just an excuse to have all of the Mishimas fighting against each other, it’s still an enjoyable action flick. One of the best characters is the android Alisa Bosconovitch. She manages to blend bizarre mechanical quirks with a warm, emotional core. Some of the best scenes are when Alisa and Ling bond with each other. While a bit stiff, the animation is very detailed and lively. Honolulu “Tekken” fans will find this to be a solid movie.
