“Fullmetal Alchemist: the Scared Star of Milos” is a movie based on the “Fullmetal Alchemist” franchise. Milos is a land caught between the power struggles between Amestris and Creta. The Milosians suffer in misery, but they hope to restore their country with the help of an alchemist named Julia Chricton. Their goal is to get the Scared Star of Milos, but it is a Philosopher’s Stone that can control lava. Can the Elric Brothers help the country of Milos or will it all end in tragedy?
This is an enjoyable film that can be watched on its own without the viewer worrying about the continuity. Interestingly enough, the revenge motif isn’t really played up at all, which is quite a shame. It would have been cool to see the Elric Brothers trying to stop a revenge driven Julia from slaughtering the entire population of Creta. Still, Honolulu “Fullmetal Alchemist” fans will be pleased with this new addition to the series.
