“Dragon Ball Z: The Tree of Might” is the third film in the “Dragon Ball Z” film series. The mighty space pirate Turles has arrived on Earth to plant a dangerous tree called the Tree of Might. It drains the planet’s life force in order to produce fruits that increase the strength of the person who eats it. Goku and his friends race to stop Turles, but the space pirate has a few nasty tricks up his sleeves. Can Goku save the day?
The idea that there were more survivors of Frieza’s genocide than previously thought is a great idea. Unfortunately, the writers don’t take the opportunity to explore it, therefore wasting excellent storytelling potential. The viewer also doesn’t get a good explanation as to why Turles looks exactly like Goku. Still, despite its flaws, it’s not that bad of a movie; so Honolulu “Dragon Ball Z” fans may like it.
