“Dragon Ball Z: Broly the Legendary Super Saiyin” is the eighth film in the “Dragon Ball Z” series. Goku and his friends meet up with two surviving Saiyins: Paragus and his son Broly. They claim that they are building a new planet Vegeta and need the Z fighters’ help to defeat the Legendary Super Saiyin. But what they don’t know is that it’s all a part of Paragus’ plans for revenge and that his son Broly is the Legendary Super Saiyin. Can Goku and his friends win?

The idea behind Broly is actually a pretty good one. Unfortunately, they give a really stupid reason as to why Broly became a Super Saiyan. It would have been cooler if his mindless rage was partially as a result of his traumatic near death experience and partially because of his father’s attempts to control him. Still, he is a legitmate threat to the Z fighters. If they can handle some missed character potential, Honolulu “Dragon Ball Z” fans may like the movie.
