A crowd pleaser for your 4th of July celebrations, the 2012 “Stewart Ranch” Pinot Noir, from Hill Family Estate, is a wine not to be missed. Let this wine open and you will be tempted with aromas of cherry with a slight, inviting earthiness. The palate is dry with a good body. A great food wine, with a long cherry finish and light earthy notes.
The 2012 “Stewart Ranch” Pinot Noir is 100% Pinot Noir from the Napa Carneros region. It is fermented in 30% new French Oak and 70% neutral French Oak. It is available for $48.
A little on Hill Family Estate: After more than 23 years of growing grapes for some of Napa Valley’s finest wineries, the Hill Family decided to produce their own wines. In 2001, Hill Family Estate released their first vintage, a “Beau Terre” vineyard designated Merlot and proprietary blend by the name of “Origin.” By definition, Origin is the foundation, the beginning of something. For the Hills’, their passion for wine and love for the Napa Valley all begins with family.
The Hill Family Estate Tasting room is located in Yountville, CA. They have several other delightful wines that are also worth a try. A few of my personal favorites are the 2012 “Stewart Ranch” Pinot Noir, the 2012 Atlas Peak Sauvignon Blanc and the 2013 Napa Valley Albarino. If you are in the area be sure to stop-by, their wonderful wine and friendly staff make this a can’t miss tasting experience.
