From Sili…
Last weekend I had the pleasure of doing something a little different. I listed “go out on more dates” asa resolution this year and I am happy that I can check at least one thing off that list. What did I do, youask?

Orlando has so much to offer. I love that although I’ve lived here most of my life, I still find great thingsto do and great places to dine. I had the great pleasure of going on a High-Octane date last week with acertain young man also known as “daddy” around the house.

Why was it high-octane? We got a chance to DANCE! Not at a club. Oh no no no. We went for a salsalesson at Arthur Murray. And wow! I’ve wanted to go for so long and was never able to talk him intogoing. How did I do it? Oh, I told him all about this fabulous restaurant we were going to.About howperfect the food was, about how it’s the best Brazilian steakhouse in the state. I told him we wereheaded to Fogo de Chão.

The day before our date I told him, oh we are stopping by for a little dancing to work up an appetite. Atthis point, all he was thinking about were the 15 cuts of meats that he would surely be getting a chanceto try and of course, he didn’t argue. He enjoyed the dancing more than I did and even said we would do it again. So that was a big success.Afterwards? Dinner did not disappoint.

Fogo has amazing food, there’s no arguing that. Succulent cuts of meats and a salad bar to envy. But,that’s not why I love the place. Inevitably (as with so many things in this life) it’s about the people.

Lindsay, our server, was friendly, fun and energetic. It almost felt like we were at her house for dinner.Attentiveness, attention to detail on top of the above-board food is definitely something to behold atFogo.

“We are a vibrant, expressive, fun dining experience, which is a little different than what you mightencounter at other high-end steakhouses here,” says Head Gaucho Chef Paulo Simonetti.“Our guestsare naturally drawn to lively atmospheres and are generally eager to experience life at its fullest, so ourdate-night suggestions are the perfect prelude to an evening at Fogo.”

Their suggestions include dancing, which I already told you about but, minutes from the restaurant youcan also enjoy:

Twilight Helicopter Tour — a brilliant flight at 11,000 feet to see the city in a whole new way.
Zip Lining – a daring physical feat directly over Florida alligators and Nile crocodiles.
Indoor Skydiving– an adrenaline-boosting sensation of free-fall without a parachute.
Go-Kart Racing — a fast and furious race in electric Italian pro-karts that reach 50 mph.
Reverse Bungee Jumping — a mix of fun and fright that shoots riders straight to the stars 390 feet aboveground.
