It is not every day that you unsuspectingly find a hidden gem right in your very own backyard, but every once in a while you get lucky. The hidden treasures found at Burger Island located in Carrollton, Texas on Beltline Road, was a pleasant surprise indeed! From the outside of the establishment, Burger Island is the kind of hole in the wall that makes you look at its’ exterior and turn right back around and get into your car without even going inside. For those of you that are adventure seekers, once you dare to go inside you’re going to get hooked.
Burger Island’s extensive menu includes all types of wild and crazy burgers from their signature burger called the Jungle Burger, which includes two thick and juicy all-beef patties, melted cheese, lettuce, tomato slices, bacon, grilled onions, jalapenos, and mayonnaise, to other deliciously different options such as their salmon burger, or the light and lean turkey burger. Burger Island’s steak-cut French fries and fountain drink complete the combo for around $8-$12, depending on what size combo you choose.
Besides Burger Island’s behemoth-sized burgers, they also offer a wide variety of appetizers to choose from like mozzarella sticks and fried pickles. Perhaps the most treasured menu item of all would have to be Burger Island’s jalapeno poppers which taste as if they are homemade.
