Mixed Martial Arts or MMA has become quite the phenomenon. From Bellator to UFC its become one of the biggest sports around. So it comes as no surprise that a few movies have been made about the sport. First came Warrior and now comes a comedy offering from Happy Madison productions.
Here Comes the Boom is the story of a teacher who joins the MMA circuit to save a fellow teacher from losing his job.
It's a very simple premise but one that works extremely well. It's funny in all the right spots, has some really well-choreographed MMA fights, and gives us an inspirational tale of how you can triumph against great odds.
The cast for this film is excellent. Kevin James headlines as Scott Voss a former college wrestler who is now a very lazy teacher. He is great in the role and gives it his all and his reversal from slacker to Fighter is a great highlight of the film.
Henry Winkler is excellent as well. He plays a music teacher who is going to lose his job and he becomes Scott's ally in his attempt to save his job.
This is a great film. It's clean enough for everybody and has a great deal of funny humor. You should really give this film a shot you won't regret watching. Five Stars.
I've added a link to the film's content advisory page here. A link to the film's website here. And a link to where you can purchase the film here and here.
But give this film the old college try it's one of the better film's to come out recently.
