You could feel the anticipation as the showroom began to fill up. The audience was there at Caesars Atlantic City on Saturday evening March 29, 2014 to enjoy “Heart” who are real legends in rock and roll.
Many of the legions of Heart fans were enjoying themselves before the lights even dimmed. A group of eight ladies were already standing and singing while showing off their dance seventies moves. A mixed group of fans on the side of the showroom, all wearing “Heart 2014 Tour” T-shirts did not hesitate to show their moves as well.
As the band made its way to the stage, the audience rose to their feet and greeted Heart with a standing ovation. As Ann Wilson began to sing “Barracuda” the bands first offering, their fans reacted with even louder cheers.
However, when Heart followed with “What About Love” the showroom became even louder as Ann Wilson belted the lyrics out with great vibrato and Nancy Wilson roamed the stage showing the reason some consider her one of the best guitarist on the circuit today.
The main portion of the concert was comprised of thirteen songs, a couple new and some Heart oldies, but all performed wonderfully and truly representative “Hearts” amazing talents Later, as the band left the stage and the show ended, the audience remained on their feet applauding and calling for “Heart“ to return for more.
A few minutes later, the band walks back on stage and explodes with an encore of Led Zeppelin covers which brought the evening to a rousing finish.
“Heart,” as a band is a mixture of six members but the heart and soul of the band are the amazing two sisters, Ann and Nancy Wilson. With Ann on vocals and Nancy on guitar they have remained legends in the rock industry for decades.
It is the voice of Ann that provides the basis for the band. Her voice is pure and it can blast the sound of rock and roll and can sound utterly pure on a ballad. But to be fair, you cannot forget the sound of Nancy. She also has as magical voice and when the band performs, “These Dreams,” with Nancy as the lead her voice comes alive.
Heart has created a huge following which had not only lasted throughout their career but has continued to grow and to appeal to younger generations, turning them into fans.
A “Heart” concert is a memorable event and if you get the opportunity to see “Heart” perform, chances are you too will become a “Heart” fan forever.
