Looking for light and healthy Kansas City dining without your meal being expensive and time consuming? Check out The Mixx. With their cafeteria-style dining, yet elequant, high quality food, it's sure to please.
The Mixx serves a variety of fresh sandwiches, wraps, gourmet salads, sautéed pastas, and colorful soups. And if none of their menu items suits your craving, they offer a list of over 50 "Mixx-ins" and ingredients for you to choose for yourself. And unlike most fast food joints, Mixx helps alleviate their carbon footprint by serving all menu items on real plates, cups, and silverware, also enhancing the patrons' experience.
Menus can be found right as you walk in either entrance and patrons may want to select their choice before stepping into line due to the fast-paced atmosphere. During peak meal times, Mixx can have very high traffic so once you get up to order, it helps to know what you want, lest feeling pressured to hurry.
Currently serving Kansas City in two different locations, you can find The Mixx in the Power & Light District or the Plaza Colonnade, next to Yogurtini and Chipotle. Lunch and dinner are served daily and their menu can be found right here on their website.
So next time you're in need of a quick, yet delicious break from your lunctime office routine or are simply having a longer, casual dining experience with family or friends, keep in mind The Mixx. It just might end up being the dining environment, quality, and price you're looking for.

The Mixx is very good and has excellent salad selections, but the atmosphere is a bit crowded. For a more intimate, healthy dining experience, check out The Farmhouse. Located at 300 Delaware St., in Kansas City's River Market area, their menu selections feature locally-grown and organic items at an incredibly affordable price. Might just be one of Kansas City's best kept secrets!
Yes, Mixx can get very crowded, that's one downfall. Thanks for the suggestion! I haven't heard of The Farmhouse , but it sounds like my kind of place. We'll definitely check it out sometime.
They REALLY REALLY Need to post nutritional information in the restaurant or on the website. I agree they are healthy but it would be nice to have exactly the calorie intake
I'll definitely agree with that. I like having exact nutritional content as well.
