As a health coach, I’m always on the lookout for tasty new snack ideas to satisfy the palates of my health-seeking clients. And while I encourage them to create their very own healthy little masterpieces at home - - the reality is, sometimes you’ve just gotta grab a bag of something ready-made, and go.
Over the Christmas holiday, I was lucky enough to be introduced to a delicious and nutritious snack option that I’ll be sure to pass along to my clients: Sticks & Twigs Pretzels by Mary’s Gone Crackers. While I've had their original seed crackers several times before (I even packed them in my luggage two years ago on a trip to Spain), these pretzel snacks are tasty, super-crunchy, organic, non-gmo, gluten-free, vegan (no cholesterol) and they pass the “conscious eating” test. Each pretzel is baked using organic, whole-grains: brown rice, brown flax seeds, quinoa, sesame seeds, amaranth, millet and chia seeds, and they’re manufactured in a dedicated gluten-free facility (very important for those with Celiac or those who are gluten sensitive/intolerant.)
My particular favorite is the curry flavor (organic curry powder and sea salt). They’re great alone as a snack or for dipping in hummus, baba ganoush or crumbled on top of veggie chilli. In addition to their pretzels, Mary’s Gone Crackers has a wide variety of snack choices including gluten-free and vegan Ginger Snaps, Caraway Crackers and Chipotle Tomato Sticks & Twigs.
