To start off, I would like to say that I don’t know much about Pink Floyd. But of course I’ve heard a good amount of Pink Floyd songs, and I think I can say that Have a Cigar, a Pink Floyd cover band, was pretty spot-on. Unfortunately I didn’t stay long enough to hear my favorite song, “Wish You Were Here.” But they played lots of Pink Floyd hits, like “Us and Them,” “Shine on You Crazy Diamond,” and “Comfortably Numb.” [*check out the set list below*]
The only disappointing thing is that Winston’s in Ocean Beach doesn’t have great lighting; and Pink Floyd is usually associated with an awesome light show. But they did have a pretty rockin’ disco ball that got people up and dancing!
But in the end it’s the music that really matters. The members of Have a Cigar seem to mesh really well and their only female member, Yolanda, has a powerful voice and isn’t afraid to show it off. She’s the complete opposite of tone deaf; she can switch between octaves so effortlessly. Lead singer/guitar player Casey and bass player Rob both have some mad guitar skills; they traded guitars a few times.
They also packed the place! Definitely lots of Pink Floyd fans.

So, if you like Pink Floyd I would definitely recommend going to see this band! Their next show will be at Portuglia’s in Ocean Beach on March 26.
