If you think peanut butter smeared in a burger or cream cheese and pepperoncinis as toppings are pushing it, then you’re definitely not ready for the Parmesan Crusted burger.
Falling out of the conventions of your traditional burger, this sandwich is one of the most popular on the menu at Harlem Public Bar. Grandaisy sour dough bread does the job of a bun, crusted over with parmesan cheese. Prepare yourself. The outside is hard, but it helps with keeping the loaded toppings of the burger together.
According to the menu, it warns customers that things could get messy with this one. And it will. The burger makes a statement with its overflow of melted swiss cheese over a hot beef patty.
Although lettuce, tomato, onions, and chipotle mayo are all included, the taste of cheese dominates. The chipotle mayo is subtle and doesn’t give too much of a kick. The burger is a little over priced totaling to $13.95 but it does come with a side of fries.
If you’re not a cheese lover this burger is not for you. Since there’s two types of cheeses that dominates your taste buds, the burger becomes somewhat salty. It’s suggested that you order a nice hard cider to balance out the taste. The sweet taste of apples plays well with the salty cheeses making it an enjoyable experience.
