Harlem Globetrotters a slam dunk in Austin

The Harlem Globetrotters were back in Austin on January on 25-26 at the Frank Erwin Center as they continue their "You Write the Rules Tour". The Globetrotters put on a great show, providing entertainment for the whole family as an exhibition basketball team that combines athleticism, theater and comedy.

The Globetrotters did all the antics they've done for countless years, but they did them great and put on a marvelous show. Their success stems largely from the fact that their show is timeless and appeals to fans of all ages. Many generations have enoyed their more than 85 year history and 20,000+ games. This team has become one of the most recognizable franchises in sports.

The fun activities during breaks in the game and the general silliness during the game itself kept the audience highly engaged. The Harlem Globetrotters allow their show to spill into the stadium seats and encourage audience participation. With young fans and adults being whisked to the court to participate in the show, the whole event seems really accessible.

A notable highlight comes at the end of the game when the whole team was available for individual pictures and would sign team paraphernalia. Each player was incredibly approachable as hundreds of fans circulated the court to see their favorite players.
