Hanzel Und Gretyl crushes the Aftershock with Industrial Metal + Previews!

Kansas rarely enjoys the hardcore sound of industrial metal. Having one of the nations most remarkable and intense bands of that style come to the Aftershock was a big deal for Kansas City and all the fans in town. Hanzel Und Gretyl has been playing its German-influenced electronic rock since the early 90s and has gained a big following world-wide as one of the most extreme bands in the scene.

The Aftershock had a trickle of metal heads flowing in throughout the night as the openers played mixes of metal and industrial rock. The music blared loud and strong throughout every set leading up to the headliner, but nothing could compare with the crushing power of the duo that took the stage last.

The charismatic guitarist and bassist that make Hanzel Und Gretyl has amassed a cult following through its fearlessly aggressive and catchy rock songs and wild live performances. While the New York based band's style has changed from its more dance-able electronic sound to a heavier attitude, the instrumental power and tangible energy emanating from the band has only grown stronger. From the minute they took the stage, the pair obliterated eardrums with their fierce, heavy rock. Playing crowd favorites like "Fukken Uber Death Party" and "Number 1 in Deutschland" kept the audience in furious rapture.

For their show at the Aftershock, both band members led the audience to clap, sing and raise their horns with every song. Near the end of the show they both got down and high-fived their way through the crowd. At some point midway through the lengthy set, guitarist Kaiser Von Loopy chugged beer from an audience member's boot. At the end of the night Kaiser passed around shots of Jäger while Bassist Vas Kallas led ladies from the crowd to join her for a dance party on stage.

Hanzel Und Gretyl is a band unlike any you may ever see. The most hardcore industrial metal to come from the U.S., this pair of face-melting musicians will smash your hearing in its musical fist as you rock out and lose your mind in the wild and passionate audience. Do not miss a chance to see this show live.
