Hansel and Gretel get lost in a forest, meet a witch and almost get eaten, until they take matters into their own hands. This is how the fairy tale goes, or to a point, depending upon which version one reads, sees or hears.
This is the new version, not the Disney one. It includes their father leaving them in the forest where a house appears and a witch attempts to eat them. It does not stop with their escape, but leaps forward through newspaper accounts to their adult hood.
They are witch hunters or bounty hunters depending upon whom one is speaking or listening. They have grown from their initial childhood into machines with weapons which work most of the time. They each have a flaw, but overcome it when necessary and they lead an incredible life in 3D.
This is one of the new 3D films for actions which are coming out. There indications it will be returning to theaters as a success, from the earlier days when there were not as many fans of the indepth scenescope virtues of this medium.
The arrows fly straight into the faces of the audience with the 3D effect. The charming opening of old world cutouts of the towns they travel through are only the beginning for those who pay the extra for the glasses.
Recommended for children who know the difference between right and wrong as well as good and bad. Enjoy!
