Sunny weather and plenty of canine participants made for a successful Third Annual “Stroll for Strays” event to benefit SAVE, A Friend to Homeless Animals in Princeton, New Jersey. The Mercer County Park in West Windsor Township provided a lovely setting to stage the event on October 5, 2013.
The dogs lined up with their walkers with both teams and individuals participating. The dogs came in all breeds, shapes and sizes and some were recognized as former SAVE shelter pets that had been adopted to their new forever homes.
The Halloween Costume Contest staged during the event was a big hit with participants and spectators. Dogs in all sorts of costumes including cows and turtles strutted their stuff to the delight of the crowd cheering them on. Prizes were awarded, and it was a fun time for all.
The event also featured vendors, a HomeAgain microchip clinic, face painting, photo booth, agility playground, raffles including a 50/50, and Blessing of the Animals.
