Guild Wars 2: PvP Review

PvP in Guild Wars 2 is very structured and yet very skill based at the same time. The action is amazing, players can dodge and roll to evade attacks. There are some attacks that cannot be dodged, but there are a lot more that are only area based. [Guild Wars 2 main page]

Healing is interesting, every profession has some kind of healing abilities, and a lot of them have passive regeneration. There are special abilities that each class has called slot skills. There are also traits that players can pick from to further customize their characters.

The only real PvP in Guild Wars 2 is world vs. world PvP and structured PvP. In this players compete against each other for fame and glory. There is no world PvP as players are used to in World of Warcraft.

Weapons are important in Guild Wars 2 as well. Depending on which weapon a player has equipped, he will have different abilities. Also most professions can use ranged combat weapons.

When players die they get a chance to be revived, which any player can do, for no cost to them. Also players can fight to the death while lying on the ground dying. Depending on which profession a player is, they’ll have different abilities when in this dying state.

If someone kills a player, they have to execute them before leaving, or else there’s a chance they might get back up; also not to mention the damage that a downed player can do in his or her dying state.

Overall Guild Wars 2 has very good PvP combat. It’s fast paced, intense, and very skill based. Groups are important, which help people to form guilds. Dodging abilities makes it fun to play because it gives players a chance to have an edge over the competition, and feel like they’re more than a walking tower.

Guild Wars 2 earns a 5 out 5 in PvP for its exceptional combat system. Their max level system for world vs. world PvP is nice too. Overall everything comes together in a nice, seamless fashion in Guild Wars 2. For PvP, Guild Wars 2 is a must buy game for any MMORPG fan.
