Many Fort Smith residents will admit to not relishing the season of winter, and it is not difficult to see why. The Fort Smith region has only seen one major snowfall this year, the rest of the time has produced temperatures that are pleasant and enjoyable. Due to the lack of snowfall many residents have taken the time to indulge in winter traveling.
Winter traveling can be fun especially for those who are foodies. Imagine visiting a restaurant in another town and experiencing cuisine that just cannot be found in Fort Smith itself. One such restaurant is located just a short distance away in the town of Greenwood called Scooters. Scooters BBQ and Catering is one of the cities best kept secrets. The restaurant is only open for lunch on the weekdays (except Tuesday) from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Scooters is famous for its $6.00 Boxed Lunch, which consists of a sandwich, side and a chocolate brownie. There are nine sandwiches to choose from which include the Southwest Chicken Wrap, Steak Wrap and Smoked Brisket (this examiner's favorite).
Scooters is also known for its catering services. The restaurant has catered several functions for the Greenwood Public School System as well as companies in Fort Smith and Van Buren. For those who would prefer to eat at home, Scooters will fix an order to go or deliver it to a person's home for no extra charge (for a delivery radius contact Scooters at 479-414-6758). Those looking to visit a restaurant outside of the area don't have to travel far, they need only come to Scooters BBQ and Catering.
