Faro Salad is made with soffrito and vegetable stock and finished with feta cheese. I love this dish! It reminded me of a nutty, oat flavored risotto. The feta gave the dish a wonderful aroma that made me go back for more. If we weren’t sharing, I would have eaten the whole bowl myself. Thumbs up, way up!
Kristi’s Quinoa is made with sofritto and green onion and accented with balsamic vinegar. I love quinoa, but I think this was cooked with too much liquid making it a little mushy. The flavor was okay. Might be better with crisp, cubed vegetables like radish or bell pepper or maybe fruit like green apple or dried cranberries to bring up the flavor a bit.
Grilled Deliciousness is a grilled peach with peach puree, salted pecan crusted burrata cheese, tiny arugula & crispy prosciutto salad with a drizzle of balsamic reduction. This was absolutely scrumptious! The creamy burrata cheese and sweet peach made a perfect marriage like a peach panna cotta. The prosciutto and pecans added a salty flavor to balance out the dish, sort of like salted caramel. Perfectly executed! Thumbs up, way up!
Plum Lavender Soju Lemonade is made with house squeezed plums. The plum and lemon flavors mellowed out the strong soju for a refreshing drink. The lavender was a little lost, but made a beautiful presentation in the glass. Be careful, soju can be strong and when mixed up in fruity concoctions. It may seem harmless so be mindful of your servings, especially if you are driving. Thumbs up, way up!
Turkey Sliders are mini turkey burgers with butter lettuce, roasted tomato, red onion marmalade, pomegranate aioli and served on a sesame bun. These little devils are awesome! The burger was firm and moist, not dry like the usual turkey burger. But the star is definitely the pomegranate aioli. It didn’t even taste like aioli, but more like a pomegranate or raspberry yogurt sauce. I would try the full size burger next time. Thumbs up, way up!
Almond Chicken Sandwich is topped with a tangy slaw, romesco sauce, and served on a vegan harvest bun. I loved the harvest bun with its nutty, oat flavor, but the rest of the sandwich fell flat in flavor. Maybe dialing back the tangy slaw and romesco sauce might help. I couldn’t even taste the chicken, although I knew it was in there.
Romesco Sausage “Pizza” is a crispy whole wheat tortilla topped with romesco sauce, turkey sausage, parmesan cheese, arugula, and fennel. It’s a little spicy like sriracha. You can’t even tell its turkey sausage. It tastes like it could be pork. All in all, it had a good combination of flavors. Thumbs up!
