Bring your best love on Valentine’s Day, to a new fine dining experience, in the east Delmar Loop corridor. El Paisano Bar & Grill, a Mexican restaurant, with 1 other location, has made a new home at the former Twisted Olive Bar & Grill area. Their succulent menu is full of authentic Mexican cuisine, that would make even Taco Bell fringe.
I stopped in and had a talk with the manager Chris Aponte. And he was very excited about the grand opening, and is hoping to get the liquor license squared away soon. So that they can offer great drink specials with your meals. I sampled a full combo deal, starting with the Chiles Rellenos: meatballs wrapped in a tangy cheese sauce and pieces of bell peppers. Then I had a delicious crunchy taco that was made with a great helping of beef. After washing all of that down, I’d patiently made my palate savor the Chalupa with a huge serving of tomatoes.
The refried beans and rice were prepared on the side, so of course they were delicious. Luckily, after each dish was sampled here and there. I still had room for the mouth-watering enchiladas and the pork tamale.
El Paisano also has soup & salads, and their guacamole salad is just $3.75.They have a wide menu of Especialidades, with ‘specials’ named Carmen and Anita. You can also create your own delicious combo starting at $9.95. Their lunch menu starts at a budget price of $6.55, and is served between 11:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m., Monday-Saturday only, and the full dinner menu is always available.
So, grab a menu and don't fret if you don't know the certain terms on the menu. Because on the very back of the list are descriptions of Mexican food meanings. Everything is real Mexican at El Paisano in the east Delmar loop corridor. So do yourself a favor and stop in and grab a bite to eat soon.
