Up in space any mistake can cost you your life, but for three astronauts a disaster waiting to happen may be their undoing. This is an experience that has never been seen before and will bring you on a 3D adventure that is out of this world.
While on a mission that brings these three astronauts 372 miles above the earth, something goes wrong. This routine expedition to place a satellite out into space puts the astronauts in harm’s way when an unforeseen disaster is heading for them.
During the launching of a new satellite, a debris field from a Russian satellite is in their path and will threaten to destroy the shuttle. While trying to get back to safety the debris destroys the shuttle and launches both Ryan Stone (Sandra Bullock) and Matt Kowalski (George Clooney) free from the ship into space. Now they must make it back to the ship and find a way to communicate with earth.
When they return to what was left of the shuttle they discover that there is no way to contact mission control (voice, Ed Harris). After they examine the wreckage they find that there is a way to travel but only for short distances. From there they must somehow travel from the destroyed shuttle to another functional space station nearby. Their journey is to find a way back to earth or be destined to float in space forever.
Director and writer Alfonso Cuarón puts together an amazing science fiction thriller that will bring you into the story and leave you a little dizzy at the end. His detailed special effects give you an authentic feeling that you are actually there. He continues by putting together an excellent 3D experience that displays the hard work he and his team put together to make such a successful film.
Gravity is a 3D thrill ride adventure that will bring you into the film like you are riding a rollercoaster. It keeps you on your toes wondering if they will find a way to survive their return to earth. This is a must see in 3D or IMAX to get the full effect that this motion picture has to offer.
Final Grade: I give this an A- for its outstanding 3D experienced and its fantastic attention to details.
