Sherye Wise of Purrrfect Pet Bakery in Louisville hosted Mardi Paw party to benefit The Arrow Fund on 23 Feb. at Almost Home Boarding and Training. Numerous people contributed to a potluck that included several versions of jambalaya, crawfish, brownies, fruit and veggie trays, cakes, and the crowning glory, a Randazzo’s king cake from New Orleans.
They organized a silent auction that showcased wine baskets and handmade quilts. There was a raffle as well that featured an array of items ranging from dog toys to shirts to gift certificates and coffee items. Proceeds from the auction and raffle will be used to help pay the medical bills for the animals that The Arrow Fund saves.
People brought their dogs with them to the event, some of the dogs were former Arrow Fund rescues. A good time was had by all, people and animals. A doggie fashion show and talent show provided great entertainment. Springfield Photography was also on hand to capture pictures of the dogs in the festive spirit. Mardi Gras themed music set the mood. All that was missing from the play list were Mardi Gras Mambo and Ain't No Place to Pee on Mardi Gras Day.
Not only is this a great cause to support it is a great event to attend. If you are an animal lover in Louisville during the Mardi Gras season, this is a fun party to check out. The Arrow Fund still desperately needs donations and fosters. They can't save lives alone.
