Braised n Blue burger

With many accolades for their beer in the less than 2 years they've been opened one would hope the food at Arizona Wilderness Brewing Co. in Gilbert would be just as good. With 5 burgers on the menu ranging in price from $9.99-$11.99 I opted for the Beer Braised n Blue burger ($10.99).

All of the burgers are made with a brisket blend of beef before grilling and served on either a Pretzel bun or Brioche. The Braised n Blue burger comes on a Pretzel bun and topped with Blue cheese crumbles, beer braised onions and salted & sautéed Arugula. All toppings are a winning combination but the overall take of the burger is less than stellar as the burger was cooked closer to medium well despite the menu stating all burgers are cooked to medium and my request for medium rare. The bun to burger ratio is not in good proportion as the burger looks inadequate on the pretzel bun and below the toppings. The toppings themselves brought good flavors but overpowered the smaller burger. Lettuce, tomato and red onion come as garnish and seem to be redundant with Arugula and onions used for toppings. Not one to waste good & healthy vegetables they were eaten accordingly.

The burger comes with fresh cut chips and a pickle spear one can substitute Belgische Frietjes (Belgian Frites/fries) for $.99 and I found them to be seasoned good with crispy outside and soft potato inside.

They've already have good ideas for burger toppings, better execution in cooking it & a smaller bun or bigger burger can vault this burger to the next level and get accolades not just for their beer but their burgers too.
