Glam rockers Black Veil Brides rock The Knitting Factory Concert House in Reno (Photos)

On Tuesday March 5, 2013 the Black Veil Brides absolutely blew the doors off The Knitting Factory Concert House in downtown Reno. Over 700 + screaming fans showed up, mostly females of all ages. Lots of people dressed in black and their faces painted up like the band, it was really awesome. It reminded this examiner of the good ol' days when Big Hair Bands ruled the rock scene. The line to get in was wrapped around the corner and went all the way to Sierra St. The last time I saw a line that long was when "The Smashing Pumpkins" played at the KNIT a couple of years ago, very impressive.

Also on the bill was, William Control.

The Black Veil Brides are an American rock band based in Hollywood, California. The band is known for their distinct appearance (black makeup and body paint, tight black studded clothing, and long hair), which was inspired by Kiss' and Mötley Crüe's stage persona, as well as numerous other 1980s glam metal acts. Most importantly, the music rocks too.

The current line-up features, Andy Biersack – (lead vocals, keyboards), Jake Pitts – (lead guitar), Ashley Purdy – (bass, backing vocals), Jeremy "Jinxx" Ferguson – (rhythm guitar, violin, backing vocals) and Christian CC Coma – (drums, percussion).

The set lasted over 90 minutes and went like this, (from the set list on stage)

"Intro", "Bullet Proof", "New Religion", "Wretched & Divine", "All Your Hate", "Rebel Yell" (Billy Idol cover), "Love Isn't Always Fair", "Overture", "Shadows Die", "Nobody's Hero", "Youth & Whiskey", "Rebel Love Song", "Resurrect The Sun", "Perfect Weapon", "Legacy", "Fallen Angels" and one encore song, "In The End".

This show was pure rock and roll, the way it's supposed to be. This examiner only wishes that more bands would follow these guys' lead and put more shows like this together. It was awesome !!!! If you missed this one, you really missed a good one.

Opening the show were electronic rockers William Control, from Seattle, WA.

William Control is an American electronic music project founded in 2008 in Seattle, Washington. It is a side project of Aiden’s William Francis. He was signed to Victory Records and has released two albums (Hate Culture and Noir), and a EP (Novus Ordo Seclorum). A third full length album, entitled Silentium Amoris, was released on April 2nd, 2012.

Only two members were in attendance for this show, William Francis - (lead vocals, piano, keyboards, synthesizers, programming) and Kenneth Flether - (bass, backing vocals).

The only problem with this set was there was very little lighting, most of the set was in the dark (and I mean very dark). It would have been nice to see more of whats going on. Other than that, it was very good. All the fans rocked the whole time. Front man Francis has a lot of charisma on stage and really knows how to entertain the audience.

A great time was had by all.

This show was brought to you JMax Productions.
