If you haven't heard of Gina Kronstadt before, you're probably in good company. For starters, she is a singer/songwriter, violinist, arranger and producer who has worked with many people in the recording, television and film industry. Her latest CD is titled Come Over and it was not her intention to put out a recording but more to express her thoughts and emotions. I can say that she has done just that. She gives a passionate and energetic performance.
The disc features eight songs that offer variety and style. Some of the notable songs include: Magic, Come Over, One More Time and Just Ask. On the song Twitter Stole My Boyfriend, she shows her gift for doing rhymes that would rival some of the rap artists you hear today. On any given album you must give credit to the musicians that can really propel the songs to higher heights. She has some of the top musicians of today playing on this recording including: John Beasley on rhodes, Christian McBride and Reggie Hamilton on upright bass, Gary Novak on drums, Luis Conte on percussion, Bob Sheppard on sax and woodwinds and John Daversa and Walt Fowler on trumpet and string section.
Kronstadt in my opinion has a hit. It would have been great if there were more songs on this disc. I definitely wanted to hear more. That leaves the door open for her to do more recording projects. I hope she does more albums in the future. I've enjoyed listening to this one very much. You can find out more about Gina Kronstadt by going to her website: http://www.ginakronstadt.com.
