Ethiopian food can be a bit daunting for non-adventurous food lovers. However, Dama Ethiopian Restaurant off Columbia Pike is the perfect first stop for those venturing into the cuisine.

Owned and operated by Chef Almaz Dama, former White House pastry chef, Dama delivers some of the area's best Ethiopian fare, along with incredibly good service.

The beef special tibs were outstanding, as was the lamb stew and the veggie combo. After eating at many other Ethiopian restaurants downtown, this beats them all hands down and prices were more than reasonable at around $12-15 an entree.

Make sure to eat with your right hand only while sopping up all the yummy flavors with the injera bread.
