Not the typical go karts that you drove at the county fair, Octane Raceway has electric karts that really have some get up and go. Their new facility, located in the Pavilions at Talking Stick off the 101 freeway in Scottsdale, is a racers paradise complete with high performance 45+ mph karts. There’s a lot going on under one roof with arcade games, rock climbing, billiards and more.

Their 1/3 mile track is the only indoor/outdoor track in the U.S. It’s a unique venue where each lap begins indoors then winds through an outdoor section of the course before returning inside. Racers are scored in a fastest lap format, where drivers get in the karts in a random order and race for a set number of laps. The driver with the best lap time wins the race.

Great for birthdays, date night or team-building, Octane has several options for a memorable event. Choose from one of their four private event rooms, the Trackside Bar & Grill, or the Brickyard patio that can accommodate up to 100 people and is filled with picnic tables, cornhole games and comfortable Adirondack chairs. Racers receive a racing sheet that logs their racing time and how they rank against the others in their group. Trophies can also be awarded to the fastest drivers on your team.

Looking for a challenge? Their 21 foot rock wall provides an exciting and safe climbing experience for all level of climbers. The Rock Wall features two climbing stations, each with a state of the art auto-belay system to ensure climbers' safety.

The rules are simple. Adult drivers must be at least 16 years of age with a valid state issued ID card. Junior drivers must be accompanied by an adult. All drivers must be at least 54" tall and ready to race in closed toe shoes.

Make reservations online, by phone or arrive and drive. If you walk in, all you need to do is register at their front desk, sign a liability waiver, and schedule you and your guests for the first available race. No gear is required. Octane Raceway will outfit you with suits and helmets.

So, buckle up! An "arrive and drive" race starts at $19.95. Octane opens daily at 11 a.m., and closes at 10:00 p.m. Monday through Thursday, midnight on Friday and Saturday and 8 p.m. Sunday. Visit them at octaneraceway.com or call 602.302.RACE (7223).
