Gaurdians of awesome: 'Gaurdians of the Galaxy' movie review

Guardians of the galaxy

Let me start by saying Gaurdians of the Galaxy is insanely awesome. There I said it. That's really all you need to know. But since I'm being paid for my opinion I'll gush a little bit more.

The basic plot is about a guy named Ronan the Accuser who is after an object that can destroy worlds. A gang of miscreants who don't really like each other team up to both destroy Ronan and keep the object out of the hands of bad guys.

That is a very simple plot but while it may sound mundane it actually works well. It's a story of misfits who individually are not really hero types but when they work together the whole is more than the sum of its parts.

It's also very funny. There are lots of comedic moments and references to the eighties. Plus it's great to see a walking talking raccoon and giant tree creature on the screen, and that they are not just a sight gag.

The acting is amazing from every member of the cast. No one phones it in, they all give brilliant performances. Chris Pratt is awesome as Peter Quill, A.K.A Star-Lord. And Vin Diesel does more with three words than some actors do with a whole dictionary.

And the action is excellent as well. Plenty of great fights and over-the-top sequences. And the world they have created is so fully realized it puts many sci-fi flicks to shame.

I can't recommend this movie enough. If you are a Marvel fan or even a fan of sci-fi you owe it to yourself to see this movie. Five Stars.

That's it for me. Peace out.
