Gary Numan is touring the United States and has a new album coming out entitled 'Splinter' that is now available for pre-order. On August 29, Gary performed at the WOW Hall in Eugene, Oregon. A few lucky fans and Examiner were able to go backstage and chat with Gary and his wife Gemma before his sound check at the venue.
Backstage, Gary related a story about how when he was preparing documents for his visa to move to the U.S. he needed a few people to vouch for him. He said that Trent Reznor and Dave Navarro were the ones who came to his aid. Gary was excited about his upcoming tour dates with Nine Inch Nails in Florida. He was very genuine and down to earth. Gary will be the special guest for the NIN shows at BB&T Center in Sunrise, FL on October 30 and Amway Center in Orlando, FL on October 31.
The set list included "Pure," "The Fall" (Officers Remix), "Metal" from the album 'The Pleasure Principle,' "Everything Comes Down to This" from 'Splinter,' "I Am Dust," "Films," "Dead Sun Rising" (Sonoio Remix), "Down in the Park," "Haunted," "Jagged," "Cars," "We're The Unforgiven," "When the Sky Bleeds, He Will Come," another new song, "Love Hurt Bleed" and "Halo." The encores were "A Prayer for the Unborn" and "Are 'Friends' Electric?"
The 'Splinter' tour continues on September 3 at the Metro Opera House in Oakland and September 4 at The Observatory in Santa Ana, Ca. Gary Numan will be performing at the Masquerade in Atlanta, Georgia on October 25 and the Mountain Oasis Festival in Asheville, NC on October 26. On October 27, Gary is playing at the Black Cat in Washington, DC and October 29 he is performing at the Music Hall Of Williamsburg in Brooklyn, New York.
