Garlic City—one of Charlotte’s most unique “Indie” groups and also named by CBS Local as one of the “Best Local Rock Bands In Charlotte”—recently released a free downloadable 7” Demo CD. The Demo, which contains two of the group’s famous hits, “6807” and “Centaur, Centaur and It’s Freezing,” was recorded and engineered at Echo Mountain Recording, in Asheville, NC, and appears to be, yet, another Garlic City musical breakthrough, which anxiously awaits the Alternative music world or, perhaps, the other way around...

Not long before, Garlic city also released its 5-track EP, “Lost At Sea.” “Lost At Sea,” recorded and engineered, locally, at Bench Studios, NC, by Chad Manus and Rick Lapinsky, proves to be another musical, Alternative breakthrough. This particular EP and Garlic City's style of music, in general, seems to offer a very welcoming musical refinement, when compared to other groups around Charlotte’s and other music scenes—as in—just when you thought you’ve heard it all—along comes Garlic City!

As for Garlic City, the group is made up of Elliott Simpson, Bayley Courtland, Logan Newsome and Brodie Cole. Originally, Garlic City became one, as a result of joining Simpson’s solo group, “Garlic Farm,” with Cole’s solo group, “Skyscraper City.” The group continues to raise the bar on its redefined musical style and creativity, through a motto the group refers to as: “Saying so much in so few words.” Seemingly, the combination of the group’s motto and hard work enables the group to continue producing a, like-no-other, style of interesting music, with a great deal of expression to go with.
