Headsets are a must in the gaming accessory lives of avid PC gamers. They are used for pretty much everything, so it is important to have a quality headset while gaming for extended session in DOTA 2 or even Counter Strike. The HyperX Cloud headset is by far the best headset I have owned and gotten to review. Not to mention it is rather affordable as far as headsets geared for gamers goes.

The design of the HyperX Cloud is sturdy despite having a smaller design. I don't look like someone getting his head absorbed by ear pads like most headsets. The comfortable design sits lightly on top of your head and while it doesn't totally block outside noise, it certainly kills enough of it. The package comes with two ear pads, and of which is a memory foam material and it feels amazing. I would say it is perfect for the summer time because they don't stick to your ears.

The sound quality is fantastic and I am guilt of using this headset to listen to music when I am not at my computer. The volume control is a bit inconsistent though and there are multiple ways to change the sound. You can use the wheel to change the overall one, or the buttons on the volume control box to enhance either side's sound. The microphone quality is also top notch. The people I talk with on Skype have noticed a significant improvement once I started to use the HyperX Cloud. It works so well with everything gaming related, and it is even compatible with the PS4.

The sturdy but light design doesn't give me pain when I zone out and play 5 matches of Smite and that is something I have been wanting in a headset. Now I know there are technophiles reading this so I will give you some specs.

  • Hi-Fi capable 53mm drivers for supreme audio quality
  • 15 - 25.000 Hz frequency response
  • Detachable microphone (quick and easy to plug/unplug for music-only purposes)
  • Solid aluminum construction for durability and stability
  • Super-soft padded leather headband with memory foam on cups for maximum comfort
  • Closed cup for enhanced bass reproduction and passive noise cancellation
  • Compatible for desktop, notebooks, mobile phones, PlayStation 4, and airplane adaptors

The HyperX Cloud comes in white or black and is available on Amazon for $89.99. I give it a solid 5/5. Seriously, pick this headset up.
