Full-coverage foundation

Hello Beauties!

In the winter season my skin tends to get a lot drier than normal; obviously there are a lot harsher weather conditions on top of the fact that your sin is constantly changing due to hormones, what you eat, etc. For that reason I use a really good moisturizer as well as heavy coverage foundation. I like heavier coverage in the winter because of the weather and I feel like it protects my skin a little more. Because of the skin changes I also tend to break out more, which is another reason why I like the heavier coverage in my foundation. For this I use Smashbox Camera Ready Full Coverage Foundation. I picked this up at the Cosmetics Company Store because it is not sold at Sephora anymore [I believe it was replaced by Camera Ready BB Cream].

This compact has been my holy grail this winter. Any redness, acne scaring, blemishes were covered up instantly. What I love about this is that it is not 'cakey'. It goes on smooth and does not look like you have a lot of junk on your face. This is a very important factor when wearing heavy coverage foundation. I would get so many compliments on how flawless my skin looked from clients; ha, if only they knew!

The foundation is a creme to powder and is extremely lightweight. It is oil-free but ideally used for combination skin types. The compact comes with a mirror on the top and a brush underneath.

Even though this is full coverage, I went ahead and set it with my MAC Studio Fix Powder and would you believe that it still gave me a very natural looking finish. One thing I will say is that the type of brush you for this is extremely important. I personally did not like the brush that comes with the compact. It is small and flat. To apply this I used an E.L.F. Cosmetics flattop powder brush that I purchased from Target for $3. Honestly, one of the best brushes I own compared to MAC, Bobbi Brown and Estee Lauder. You would not want to apply this with a sponge and you really want a brush that will not leave streaks on you face, so pay attention to that when applying this.

I highly recommend this foundation for anyone looking for full-coverage. I cannot stress enough how much I love it; I went through one compact in less than 2 months. Note that I do wear make-up everyday and I also work in the beauty industry so I am always re-applying/re-touching my face throughout the day, this is probably why I went through mine so fast. Otherwise it should last you a good 3-4 months.
