The film "Frozen," a 2010 piece, was written by Adam Green and produced by Peter Block and Tim Williams. All are newcomers to the the movie scene and made a splashing entrance in the horror/thriller genre. The film is primarily set on a hill with three people forgotten in the chairlift at a popular ski resort. The writer and producers had to portray the many different fears that are present when stuck 50 feet in the air with your best friend, played by Shawn Ashmore, and girlfriend, played by Emma Bell. Those two along with Kevin Zegers had superb chemistry and acted magnificently. The viewer felt like he was sitting in the chair with them, being scared with them, and sincerely caring about them.
Unlike most horror movies, gruesome scenes, torture, and tremendous amounts of blood were not seen. The viewer was more scared by what he did not see. The film was shot entirely on location which added to the realism felt by the viewer. The direction taken throughout the film was not one the viewer could anticipate, which kept the viewer riveted to the screen. Life and death decisions and consequences were expertly depicted. Perhaps because of the actors, writer, and producers participation in the film. The making of the film can be viewed on the DVD, as well. "Frozen" is a must see film for all.
