As I am getting ready to leave for the happy hour with my new friends that I met at the Basque food and wine event, I feel a pang of regret that my knowledge of Spanish is limited to the names of the tapas on Jaleo's menu.
With food beng so international these days - and all the mode delicious and interesting for it - a real foodie needs understand the toungues of the faraway lands. Spanish, French, Italian, Thai - and that's just the beginning.
Well, now - thanks to the wonders of modern technolog - you can learn French, Russian and get some very nice recipes on the side. Or is it the other way around? Well, anyway, Nika Belotserkovskaya, aka Belonika, a popular Russian food blogger and a founder of a cooking school in Provence, has released an update to her iPhone app "Recipes by Belonika", so every one of about a hundred or so recipes is available in English, Russian and French.
The app also works on iPad (nice!) and on Android devices (are people really using those?)
Bon appetit :)
