Saving up for the State Fair? In the meantime, enjoy some candy for the mind at the Oscar E. Monnig Meteorite Gallery, housed at Texas Christian University in Fort Worth.
A tour of the gallery includes interactive stations to learn more about meteors, an expanding collection of artifacts, and real meteors that can be touched! A great stop for science lovers and those who are simply curious. The gallery even describes how to distinguish between a meteor and a common, lumpy rock. With samples and timelines from all over the world, this is a great stepping stone for families who are looking to bring science to life for their kids.
Hours are Monday to Friday from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m and Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The Monnig Meteorite Gallery is located on campus at TCU at 2950 West Bowie Street in Fort Worth. Admission is free.
