Palace Arts Center Theater in Grapevine, TX has two movie screening programs, Classic Movie Series and First Friday Film Series on Fridays at 7:30 PM. Some nights you will even receive a special treat. A couple weeks ago the featured film was Grease. The folks from Sonic Drive-In, dressed in poodle skirts, were there handing out coupons for .99 Route 44 soft drinks to everyone in attendance. Although this was not the sing-along version of the movie, everyone was singing and just having a great time.
On Friday at the screening of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (1990) even the venue operators received a special surprise. In attendance was Kenn Scott, also known as Kenn Troum, who played one of the Foot ninjas in the first TMNT movie. In Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II: The Secret of the Ooze (1991) Scott played Rafael. He explain the use of animatronics during the 90s. Many of the children in the attendance were in full TMNT costumes or t-shirts. Most of the adults wore their TMNT shirts too. Just looking around it was evident that the audience was filled with true TMNT fans. Mr. Scott gave a little bit of the behind-the-scene history of the movie and stayed after the screening for a Q & A session and take photos with the fans. Some fans also got his autograph.
