Who is Flagship Romance? You could say they are the epitome of a "boy meets girl" love story, but Shawn Fisher and Jordyn Jackson are so much more than that. Fisher, who has been a fixture on the Jacksonville music scene for years with his band Son of a Bad Man, has switched gears by partnering in music with his real life love the exquisite Jackson.
On Saturday January 19, Flagship Romance debuted their first CD "The Fudge Sessions" at Jack Rabbits in Jacksonville. Fans were treated to homemade cookies and cream fudge made by Fisher and Jackson. The sold out show also featured some of the duo's musical friends who performed throughout the evening, but it was clear Fisher and Jackson were the real stars of the night. Their effortless delivery is a quiet balance of Fisher's intensity and Jackson's radiant vocals. Along with their original songs Flagship Romance threw in a cover of "Barton Hollow" by the Civil Wars, a band they acknowledge as an inspiration. Their haunting rendition of "A Whole New World" from the Disney classic "Aladdin" is going to be used for a promotion to help raise awareness to CharityWater.org. In August of 2012 Fisher and Jackson organized the inaugural Clean Water Music Fest to raise money to provide clean drinking water for those in need.
To see Flagship Romance in person is to experience the collaboration of two very talented musicians whose love for each other and the music they create is nothing less than authentic and heartfelt.
